About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated Head of Graphene Technology (f/m/d) to join one of our portfolio companies in the Engineering department and one of the key tasks is to oversee the entire spectrum of graphene activities, from growth to fabrication integration, ensuring seamless coordination of process steps and flow development in alignment with production requirements.
In your day to day work you will develop and execute collaborations with tool vendors to build advanced graphene tools and create and manage an extensive IP portfolio. This position demands a proactive approach to technology, with a strong emphasis on innovation and efficiency.

In this role, you’ll:
- Define and oversee the general graphene technology development program, including key milestones, KPIs, and a timeline to reach 1000 wafers per year by 2027, in alignment with the team and PMO (Month 5)
- Establish and align project management KPI tracking methods between product, technology, and strategy teams (Month 2)
- Define the project plan for the graphene transfer tool to demonstrate an automatic transfer tool by 2027 (Month 6)
- Qualify and operationalise a second external graphene supplier (Month 6)
- Build and drive a balanced team focused on scientific and operational excellence
- Develop a contingency plan with an external tool vendor for the growth of high-quality graphene
Your Profile
- Background in semiconductor integration, preferably within the industry
- Proficiency in transfer and bonding (including bonding and debonding of wafers) is a plus
- Familiarity with the 3D ecosystem (such as bonding polymers and bonding/debonding tool manufacturers) is a plus
- At least 3 years of project management, leading technical teams
- At least 3 years in people management, specifically in leading R&D teams
- Fluency in English is required
- Demonstrated outstanding research results in the growth and integration of graphene, combined with at least 3 years leading a technology R&D group
Please note that we’re looking for support in our Aachen office. Eligibility to work in the EU is required.
