About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies in order to secure and integrate high-tech autonomous systems used in networking,  IT and robotics integration.

In your day-to-day work, you’ll work alongside experts in robotics to ensure that all integrated systems, from robotic platforms to network infrastructures, are optimised for security, performance, and reliability.

→ Join our portfolio company: A German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles to spearhead automation in both governmental and civilian use cases.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity protocols for networked robotic systems, focusing on; secure data transfer, endpoint protection, and access control
  • Integrate and support IT systems across robotic platforms, managing secure communication interfaces and reliable network connectivity for diverse operational environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including experts in robotics, software, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of cybersecurity measures across all devices and systems
  • Perform regular security assessments, including; penetration testing, vulnerability scans, and compliance checks, to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the robotic systems.
  • Document best practices and maintain updated guidelines on cybersecurity and IT network integration, providing a reference for both internal teams and external partners

Your Profile

  • Demonstrate cybersecurity and IT systems expertise, including network security protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, VPNs) and IT infrastructure management
  • Hands-on experience with network integration and secure communication methods in complex environments, especially with IoT or robotic systems
  • Proficiency in security best practices and testing tools for intrusion detection, threat analysis, and secure software development
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices to ensure efficient and safe deployment of updates and patches
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Robotics, or a related field
  • Business proficiency in English and German is a plus

Nice to Have:

  • Certifications in cybersecurity or IT (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CompTIA Network+)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and IoT-specific security frameworks
  • Knowledge of robotics fundamentals, including experience with platforms like ROS (Robot Operating System), C++, and protocols for hardware integration (e.g., CAN, Modbus)

Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
