About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Robotic Autonomy Engineer (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and have an important role in advancing autonomous capabilities for unmanned ground vehicles, collaborate with a talented team to shape the future of autonomous robotic solutions in dual-use applications.

→ Join our portfolio company: A German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles to spearhead automation in both governmental and civilian use cases.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Design, implement, and optimize navigation, perception, and planning algorithms for autonomous robotic systems
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Data Scientists to ensure efficient integration of autonomy features
  • Develop systems for processing and fusing sensor data, including LiDAR, cameras, radar, and GPS, to enable advanced situational awareness
  • Perform thorough testing of autonomous systems in both simulation environments and real-world applications to ensure performance, safety, and reliability
  • Document development processes, algorithms, and system configurations for internal teams and external stakeholders

Your Profile

  • Technical expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System)
  • Practical experience in path planning, SLAM, and machine learning techniques for robotics
  • Knowledge in integrating and processing data from LiDAR, radar, GPS, and camera sensors
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems both independently and in team settings
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo) and an understanding of cybersecurity principles for autonomous systems is a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Business proficiency in English; and German is a plus

Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
