About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated Facilities Lead (f/m/d) to join one of our portfolio companies. As part of the Operations department, you will oversee facility management, ensuring all systems run smoothly and meet the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
In this role, you will take charge of setting up and optimising facilities, managing workspace layouts, coordinating with vendors, and implementing robust EHSS initiatives to create a safe and efficient environment that enhances productivity and wellbeing for all occupants.

In this role, you’ll:
- Oversee all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring smooth operation of essential building systems, including HVAC, elevators, plumbing, and more (Months 0-3)
- Optimise workspace layout and manage space allocation to meet the organization’s evolving needs effectively (Months 3-9)
- Lead vendor management, hiring and coordinating contractors (e.g., janitorial, electrical, security services) and negotiating contracts and pricing (Months 3-6)
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless facility operations (Ongoing)
- Oversee occupational health and safety initiatives, establishing protocols in partnership with TÜV to maintain compliance with German EHSS standards and ISO frameworks (Months 3-9)
- Conduct first aid, evacuation, and safety training to ensure employee awareness and preparedness (Months 9-12)
- Manage EHSS audits, implement corrective actions, and enhance emergency protocols (Months 9-18)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and safety of facility operations (Ongoing)
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a comparable role within EHSS or facility management
- Demonstrated expertise in EHSS, with a focus on workplace safety and environmental protection, and the ability to develop and implement a robust EHSS strategy from the ground up
- Strong working knowledge of German EHSS standards, TÜV compliance, and ISO frameworks
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English
- A proactive, self-starting approach with strong analytical and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for contributing innovative ideas to improve processes and ensure operational excellence
Please note that we are looking for support in the Aachen office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
