About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT System Architect (m/f/d) to strengthen our team and design, optimize, and ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT landscape.
In this role, you will architect and drive the evolution of our IT infrastructure, defining best practices and ensuring long-term scalability. You will work on enterprise IT architecture, covering virtualization, security, and device management while optimizing network performance and automation processes. You will play a key role in modernizing our IT infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence, security, and compliance.

In this role, you’ll:
- Architect and design scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring long-term stability and efficiency
- Define and optimize enterprise IT architecture, covering virtualization (e.g., Proxmox), firewalls (e.g., Fortigate), and network components (e.g., HP Aruba switches)
- Develop and implement device management strategies using Jamf Pro (macOS) and Microsoft Intune (Windows & mobile devices)
- Ensure network performance optimization, security best practices, and high availability across LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments
- Support scalability and modernization of virtualization platforms and hybrid cloud integrations
- Establish IT security frameworks, including network segmentation, endpoint protection, and compliance standards
- Provide architectural guidance for IT operations in critical environments such as cleanrooms and semiconductor facilities
- Automate and streamline IT operations, leveraging scripting and automation tools to enhance efficiency
- Develop and maintain IT governance policies and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity
Your Profile
- 5+ years of experience in IT system architecture, designing and optimizing scalable infrastructure solutions
- Expertise in Windows and Linux server environments, including performance tuning, security hardening, and high availability
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles, including segmentation, security, and troubleshooting across LAN, WLAN, and WAN
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud integration strategies
- Proven background in IT security architecture, covering both network and endpoint protection
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and security challenges
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work effectively with teams across the organization
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluency in English (written and spoken), German is a plus
Please note that we are looking for support in the Germany office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
