About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Deployment Software Engineer - Robotics (DevOps) (m/f/d) to join one of our clients and manage its Engineering strategies. In your day to day work, you’ll focus on streamlining the deployment and configuration of robotic systems in production environments, ensuring seamless integration and maintenance of our advanced robotics platforms. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to various projects and make a tangible impact on real-world applications. Our client is a renowned German dual-use technology company specializing in unmanned ground vehicles that bridge legacy platforms with cutting-edge technologies, offering a competitive salary, ample growth opportunities, and a dynamic international work environment.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain robotic systems, including controllers, radios, communication networks, and associated software stacks
  • Manage the setup and configuration of robotic platforms across diverse environments, ensuring robust deployment pipelines
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, software, production, and testing teams to deploy, validate, and monitor firmware, drivers, and system configurations
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to deliver seamless software updates across the fleet
  • Automate deployment processes and troubleshoot integration issues using protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, serial, and wireless networks
  • Optimize deployment processes for improved efficiency, scalability, and reliability
  • Document deployment procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps for effective knowledge sharing
  • Support system integration efforts in high-pressure, real-world scenarios

Your Profile

  • Proven experience in deploying and configuring embedded or robotic systems in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, serial, wireless) and fundamental networking principles
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps practices within robotics or embedded systems
  • Proficiency in Linux environments with strong command-line skills for system deployment, monitoring, and debugging
  • Familiarity with firmware flashing, system configuration, and troubleshooting integration issues between hardware and software
  • Hands-on expertise with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Solid understanding of version control practices, particularly Git and branching strategies
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication skills in English is a must; German is a plus

Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
