About the Job:

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Finance (m/f/d) to join one of our clients and lead its Finance strategies. In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on streamlining and implementing our financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes and have the opportunity to contribute to various high-impact projects.

Our client is a dynamic dual-use technology company from Germany that develops unmanned ground vehicles. They are at the forefront of automation in both defense and civilian sectors, offering a shaping role in an emerging industry with an innovative, international, and dynamic team.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build and scale the finance function in a rapidly growing hardware-software company.
  • Own financial planning, forecasting, liquidity management, and budget control.
  • Develop KPI-driven reporting across product sales, R&D contracts, and software revenue streams.
  • Prepare board and investor reports, manage fundraising rounds and due diligence processes.
  • Oversee compliance, tax matters, audits, transfer pricing, and public funding structures.
  • Partner with legal, operations, and international teams (Germany, Ukraine, UK) to shape the organization-wide financial strategy.
  • Lead the integration of financial systems including ERP and BI tools to enhance transparency and scalability.
  • Provide strategic insights to balance both product/hardware and software revenue dynamics effectively.

Your profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance or controlling, ideally in a VC-backed startup or tech scale-up.
  • Proven track record with P&L ownership, capital allocation, and cash flow modeling.
  • A strong understanding of both product/hardware and software revenue dynamics.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute hands-on financial operations and optimize processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, public grants, R&D incentives, and government procurement is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English is a must; German is a strong plus.
  • A sharp analytical mind, steady hand, and a true team player mindset.
  • Experience working in international settings is preferred.
