About the Job

We’re looking for a hands-on Tech Lead (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and to lead the technological vision and execution.

In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on developing the cutting-edge platform, owning the product roadmap and ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.

Join our portfolio company: A London-based company that provides an end-to-end solution for procuring fertilizers and commodity chemicals in international markets.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the development of our cutting-edge platform from scratch, providing strategic leadership throughout the process
  • Build and mentor a talented technical team proficient in our stack, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Ensure seamless integration and alignment between co-founders, product, engineering, and design teams, promoting effective communication across all functions
  • Oversee the robustness, scalability, and security of our technology stack to deliver an exceptional user experience and meet operational demands
  • Continuously seek opportunities for technological and product advancements, maintaining proactive engagement with key external partners to expand our product offerings
  • Shape the company’s direction and contribute to building a successful and scalable technical foundation

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 5+ years in Software Development within a fast-paced start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Strong product sense and mindset, ideally with a background or experience in product management, demonstrating user-centricity and empathy.
  • Proficient in backend technologies (Java, Spring Boot), AWS infrastructure (e.g. S3, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, Cognito, Lambda, RDS Aurora), and frontend technologies (TypeScript, Next.js).
  • Strong executor with a strategic, entrepreneurial mindset, balancing hands-on problem-solving with long-term vision.
  • Deep understanding of necessary technologies, capable of guiding technical discussions and making informed decisions to ensure a robust, scalable, and technically sound platform.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, committed to growth, fostering a positive and collaborative environment, and effectively promoting ideas across teams and departments.

Please note that we are looking for support in the London office of our portfolio company.
